Resource hub for forest-related professionals

Welcome! This is your one-stop shop for easy access to resources to support classroom and community presentations. We’re thrilled that you’re part of our collective effort to connect people  – especially young people – with trees and forests, the goods and services they provide and myriad potential careers. Together, we can grow people’s understanding of forests and empower them to take actions that benefit forests and all of us.

Resources

Activities and resources for a variety of grade levels

These tools can help you plan your presentation to fit the needs of your audience and include meaningful hands-on learning. Be sure to check out items for different age levels, as well as giveaway items you may request from IFPC.

Forest Literacy Framework

The Forest Literacy Framework contains 100 forest concepts organized around 4 themes – What is a forest? Why do forests matter? How do we sustain our forests? What is our responsibility to our forests? Explore the concepts through different lenses – grade levels, hot topics and themes – and access downloadable resources like a Glossary and 10 Reasons Why Forests Matter.

Suggestion: Use the Forest Literacy Framework to consider which concepts and activities are most appropriate for your audience.

Learn About Forests Toolkit with free PLT activities

Twelve free activities from Project Learning Tree, formatted with step by step instructions for you. Plus tips and tricks for working with students, schools and communities.

Suggestion: Use the Idaho Fast Breaks videos as part of your presentation.

Free Family Activities from Project Learning Tree

Access dozens of mini-versions of PLT activities – many downloadable in both English and Spanish.

Suggestion: Free Family Activities are also great for sending home with kids after your classroom
visit.

Tree Cookies
